Some fabulous books

I read a lot, and right now I’m feeling unwell with post gallbladder-removal troubls, so I am reading even more than usual. Books provide a perfect distraction and prevent me from feeling too sorry for myself πŸ˜‰

Here’s what I’ve read this week:

A Guide to becoming distinctly average by Amy Elliot-Smith

This is a very witty tale, which reads like a series of amusing anecdotes, about dogs, their owners, ex-boyfriends, life at boarding school, and more. It’s laugh-out-loud stuff but it has a dark undercurrent as the protagonist contemplates suicide throughout. It’s amusing, real, honest, and inspiring.

Easy by Tammara Webber

I downloaded this after I’d seen it recommended to me several times on twitter, Amazon and Good Reads and I really enjoyed it; it’s a fast-paced intense love story with some danger and twists thrown in. A fun, fast read.

Johnny Be Good by Paige Toon

I’m half way through this now. I love Paige Toon’s style of writing and can never put her books down, she’s one of my favourites. This one is about Meg, PA to a gorgeous rock star, Johnny. Another fun one, which I am going back to read more of right now…
