My favourite chick lit of 2013

This year I’ve read some fabulous books.  While I’ve read several genres (see my list on GoodReads), my favourite is of course chick lit. I love the romance, the comedy, the twists, the turns, the fast-pace, and most of all: the feel-good factor: All good chick lit leaves you with a happy glow when you’re finished.

So, here’s a list of my favourite chick lit reads of 2013 –

Pictures of Lily by Paige Toon -in the past 14 months I have devoured all of Paige’s books and even read one of them twice. Pictures of Lily and Chasing Daisy are my favourites but they’re all fantastic, fast-paced stories that will make you smile, shed a tear, and get that feel-good feeling.

Breaking the Rules / Zoey & the Moment of Zen – both by Cat Lavoie – I loved both of these novels. Cat’s writing style is engaging, and the characters are so loveable you really do miss them when you’re finished. Romantic, witty, fast-paced – everything a good chick lit should be.

About a Girl by Lindsey Kelk – I’ve enjoyed several of Lindsey’s books but this was my favourite and now I’m eagerly waiting for the sequel. The ‘I heart…’ series are also fab reads – devoured several on them on holiday this summer.

Expected by Sarah England – Incredibly funny and fast-paced, this book had me laughing out loud through-out.

How do you spell love? by Zanna MacKenzie – This book is a lovely, mystical chick lit with several twists and turns.

Finding Lucas by Samantha Stroh Bailey – a real page-turner from the very beginning, loved this.

The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris – sad but engaging, love the writing style.

…and right now I’m reading and very much enjoying: Blogger Girl by Meredith Schorr
