Book review – If You Could Go Anywhere by Paige Toon

Well, this is new – I’ve not really been into reviewing books here – but I’ve always wanted to! So, here goes…

iycgaAt the weekend, I finished If You Could Go Anywhere by Paige Toon, and it was such a delight. I’ve read all of Paige’s books (including the YA stuff) and I always enjoy them; she takes me on such a rollercoaster of emotions. I think what I like most about her writing is her ability to create chemistry between the characters, and the beautifully written ‘almost’ moments – you know, the moments where the heroine and her hero almost kiss. Where they almost realise they’re in love… but one of them gets scared and walks away, or they get interrupted by some major event or whatever… Those are the moments that keep me turning the page (or pressing on my Kindle screen), desperate to get to the point where they finally end up together (and then I’m gutted because the story is over).

This book was no exception; Angie and Alessandro have soooo much chemistry and soooo many ‘almost moments’ …and to top it all off, it’s mostly set in Italy – in places I’ve visited, and let me tell you the descriptions are just wonderful – with very interesting and enjoyable sub-plots. And, I got a great education on a fascinating Australian mining town called Coober Peby. It wasn’t just a romantic read, it was interesting and educational 🙂

Suffice to say I really enjoyed it, and highly recommend to anyone who loves romantic stories ♡
