(in no particular order…)
About a Girl by Lindsey Kelk
I always enjoy Lindsey Kelk’s books, they’re all good with really likeable characters, fun story lines and both romance and comedy a-plenty. Brilliant feel-good chick-lit.
Pictures of Lily by Paige Toon
All of Paige’s books are brilliant, fast-paced, fun, romantic reads. Pictures of Lily and Chasing Daisy are my favourites, but they’re all wonderful.
Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
A classic. I love all of Austen’s books and read them, and watch their adaptations, again & again! Persuasion is my second favourite.
Breaking the Rules by Cat Lavoie
An incredibly funny, engaging, fast-paced, feel-good chick-lit. Loved this book and also Cat’s second – Zoey & the Moment of Zen.
The Amber Reed CCIA series by Zanna MacKenzie
Very enjoyable romantic series, but with a murder mystery twist. Really enjoyed all the books in this series and highly recommend them.
The Making of Us by Lisa Jewell
Again, I’ve enjoyed several of Lisa’s books, but this is my favourite. It’s clever, addictive and moving.
Juliet, Naked and High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
Love Nick Hornby… these are my favourites but I recommend them all; brilliant, witty, moving, fab reads.
Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling
Not just for kids! Each book gets better, too, so get through the first one and just keep on reading. Read my blog about HP here.
The Martian by Andy Weir
Not my usual genre, but this was really entertaining and funny (so, so much better than the movie). Read my blog about it here.
Other authors
Anything by Marian Keyes, Giovanna Fletcher, or Mhairi Mcfarlane is always good…
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!” (Jane Austen)
