I heart Scotland
Scotland; my “thin place”, where I yearn to visit again and again. My husband and I have made several trips including to the Isle of Skye, Glencoe, the Cairngorms, Loch Lomond, Stirling, and Edinburgh, as well a trip traveling the NC500.
I particularly love the highlands; every shade of green, mountains, lochs, valleys, wilderness. It’s peaceful and quiet. The beaches, particularly North West, are stunning; on a warm day, you’d think you were somewhere tropical.
My favourite trip, by far was to do the NC500. If you picture the NC500 as a circle, we stayed in the middle (we didn’t want to keep packing/unpacking and moving our dogs) and journeyed out each day to complete the circuit.
My novel Finding Marianne is set in Scotland on the NC500 with a few detours and you can follow Marianne’s journey here >
This blog is really just a bunch of photos of my favourite moments in Scotland, from a variety of trips.
