Glastonbury: a Spiritual Retreat

Myself and four friends went to Glastonbury for a girly, spiritual, witchy weekend and had a wonderful time.

Glastonbury high street; lots of indie, unique, interesting shops.

There’s an energy and feeling around the small town of Glastonbury that’s hard to put into words. We stayed in a gorgeous Air BnB (with crystal-themed bedrooms) within easy walking distance to all the local attractions.

A wonderful shopping experience

Glastonbury is full of quirky, interesting shops selling all sorts of esoteric, witchy, new-age, unusual treasures from crystals to books to items for spell work. We spent several hours browses and buying various bits and pieces.

Goddess Temple

We booked a private meditation at the Goddess Temple, and it was lovely.

A temple ‘Melissa’ showed us around, gave us a little talk, and then led us on a guided meditation (in a beautiful room) to meet the Lady of Avalon. It was wonderful, highly recommended.

We were also invited to light a candle with the Mother Flame; which is connected to many other peace flames throughout the world.

Chalice Well & Peace Gardens

… an ancient, holy well surrounded by a beautiful World Peace Garden.

This was my favourite place; peaceful, enchanting and calm. A true place to connect to nature, and the healing waters that flow there (you can collet some and drink, or take home to use as part of your spiritual rituals).

There were people meditating, reading, sitting and enjoying some mindfulness… a wonderful place, full of magical energy. Nice gift shop too :)

Food & Drink

We bought our own decor :)

I highly recommend the The Rainbows End Cafe for lunch; all vegetarian, all delicious. We had a wonderful meal at The Queen of Cups. And nice drinks in a medieval-feel pub: The George & Pilgrims (on the high street).

We also had a girls night in, and made crystal-themed cocktails for each other :)

Other things to do in Glastonbury

There’s also the Abbey, White Spring and Glastonbury Tor; none of which we had time to enjoy, but I’ll definitely be returning to this lovely place.

A wonderful time, I’ll definitely return.
