How to plan a girly Spiritual Retreat in Glastonbury
Last month, myself, my step-daughter and 3 of our friends went to Glastonbury and had a lovely time (no, not the festival! - the town).
You can read here about what we got up to, including visiting the Goddess Temple, the Chalice Well and Peace Gardens, and plenty of shopping :)
Here are my tips, and things to consider if you’d like to plan your own Spiritual Retreat in Glastonbury:
Accomodation
There’s plenty of options, so do your research and consider what you’d like for your retreat. We wanted to be able to relax in private, and have a ‘girls night in’ one evening, so we opted to hire a house and went for this lovely Air BnB, which was beautiful. The bedrooms are crystal themed, there’s plenty of space for a small gathering of friends, a well-equipped kitchen and it’s within easy walking distance of everything you’ll likely want to visit.
Plan your itinerary
One of the many fascinating shops to browse…
There’s loads of things to do (read more about my trip here) so make sure you plan ahead, look up opening times, book in advance and ensure you can fit in everything you want to do. Here are some of the wonder things that await you:
Goddess Temple (we did a private booking and enjoyed a wonderful guided meditation)
The Chalice Well and Peace Gardens (my favourite location; serene, calm, full of positive energy)
Shopping! (from crystals to interesting books to esoteric supplies, witches potions, herbs and tonics, candles and everything in between; it’s a spiritual/witches paradise for some retail therapy)
The White Spring (we were quite tired and some of us didn’t go but apparently it’s beautiful, definitely need to return)
Climb Glastonbury Tor
Visit the Abbey ruins
Spend some time relaxing; as we had our Air BnB we also had a night in. We got a takeaway and each made crystal-themed cocktails; a lot of fun.

We did a short group meditation, and lit a candle for each person there :)
What to take
There’s the obvious stuff; clothes and toiletries, but for the perfect magical retreat you might like to consider:
Incense and candles (check you’re allowed to burn these in your accommodation of course)
Oracle or tarot cards
Journal and pen for some reflective moments
Arts and crafts (it’s an inspiring place)
Shopping bags for your haul :)
Food and Drink
I highly recommend the The Rainbows End Cafe for lunch; all vegetarian, all delicious. We had a wonderful meal at The Queen of Cups. And nice drinks in a medieval-feel pub: The George & Pilgrims (on the high street).
We also had a girly night in which involved a yummy take-away and crystal-themed cocktails…
For our ladies night in… with our crystal-themed cocktails… so much fun :)
